1、Proof of Stake Consensus

Proof of stake (PoS) consensus is the dominant alternative to Proof of Work (PoS), and provides an elegant and far more environmentally sustainable way to secure the network. PoS uses significantly less energy than PoW. PoS offers more security for the same cost. Attacks are much easier to recover from in PoS: POS’s slashing mechanism protects the network against multiple attacks by the same malicious parties, as each attack requires a fresh set of tokens, making it continually expensive to attack the network. PoS is more decentralized: Minimum stake thresholds are fairly low and accessible to most token holders. Metagraph Chain network members participate in the forging of new blocks by staking BKBT. They do this to add validity to their ‘promise’ to perform their forging responsibilities correctly. If the node operator fails to perform their duties, a portion of their stake will be taken away. This way all node operators are incentivized to do the right thing for the blockchain.

2、Node Validation

Metagraph Chain has 21 validators. A validator is responsible for sealing new blocks on the blockchain. The validator’s role is contingent upon a sufficient high bond being deposited, though we allow other bonded parties to nominate one or more validators to act for them and as such some portion of the validator’s bond may not necessarily be owned by the validator itself but by these nominators. The validators will receive rewards for the bond being deposited and their nominators will share the rewards.

3、Metagraph Chain Virtual Machine

Metagraph Chain Virtual Machine (MVM) allows community members to easily develop Dapps on the blockchain. And it is compatible with the widely-used Solidity language. And to make it more convenient to DApp developers, MVM will provide a more advanced API interface and a high-level language SDK.
